Wanted to Learn More About Becoming More

Art, for me, is an act of resistance and a beacon of hope. It has the power to make the invisible visible, to challenge the status quo, and to inspire change. Through my work, I invite people into a world where the complexities of life are explored with honesty and heart.

When I create, I follow my curiosity, my need for healing, and my desire to share my journey, thoughts, and values. What connects all of my work is my refusal to accept what so many women and children are still going through—

being treated as second-class citizens.

There have been moments when I saw how my work connected with others, sparked conversations, or even brought healing. I create because there are stories that need to be told, emotions that demand to be expressed, and silences that must be broken.

Becoming More, my new collection features a curated selection of original mixed-media triptychs that narrate the untold stories of remarkable women in art, where each piece celebrates their brilliance while urging the viewers to reclaim the power to carve their own path.

I often say, “My brush is my sword.”

Because for me, art is more than expression, it’s resistance. It’s a beacon in the dark. It reveals what’s been hidden, challenges what’s been accepted, and offers a place where transformation begins. Through my work, I open the door to a world where the complexity of life, its pain, its beauty, and its resilience is explored with raw honesty and deep heart.

At the core of everything I create is a commitment to women’s empowerment. My art navigates the layered terrain of gender, violence, survival, and healing, interweaving narratives that demand to be seen and heard.

Over the years, I’ve created pieces that were both deeply personal and fiercely experimental. Projects like Born to, Badrooms, Wonder Women Now, and Please Tell Her That I Love Her emerged from catharsis. Others, like Pret-a-Porter and The Perfumes, allowed me to explore form and boundaries. Some works held my anger, like Sour Times. While some mourned, like In Memoriam.

But there was one series that changed everything!

It was a photography project I created alongside survivors of domestic violence. Women, who had fled everything they knew, sometimes with only a plastic bag and a child in tow. Their strength and vulnerability shattered me. And healed me. This project later became Wonder Women Now.

Through their courage, I found mine.

Until then, I hadn’t fully recognized the abuse in my own life. I had seen it in my children’s eyes. I felt it in my own bones. But I was so used to it, I didn’t know it had a name.

Their stories helped me reclaim my peace.

I now live in a home filled with harmony. I have learned to love myself again. And it was art, this sacred act of creation, that carried me from subconscious pain to conscious liberation.

That is the gift of sharing our stories.

You never know which one will reach someone’s heart, or save a life.

I’ve walked the path from shame to bravery, from silence to truth, from trauma to purpose. And I believe that in our most vulnerable truths lie the seeds of our greatest strength.

For me, art is that strength.

My materials are as layered as the emotions I channel: clay, canvas, barbed wire, dolls, paper, Louis Vuitton bags, 18th-century missiles, found objects. Each piece carries history, repurposed into a new language of defiance, resilience, and radical hope.

My new collection, Becoming More is not just a collection, it’s a testament to the power of story. In a world that often asks us to stay silent, vulnerability becomes a radical act of freedom.

After years of being unable to trust, it was the presence of women, strong, creative, open-hearted women, that became my lifeline. That’s why my art is rooted in hope, in the belief that there is light after darkness, joy after pain, and transformation after trauma.

I paint to cut through the silence!

I create to honor the voices that helped me rise.

And I share these works so that someone else, somewhere, might begin to believe in the strength of their own voice too.
